Drawing for Mortals
Driven by personal experiences of love and loss, I cultivated an unconventional artistic approach to contemplating deep questions on death and end-of-life planning.
24 hour Comic Challenge
I wanted to contribute to the LDComics online community (a women-led comics forum), after an isolating year of Covid lockdowns. I organised and hosted the 24 Hour Comic Challenge for their global network in Feb 2021.
Listen to Your Daughters, Educate Your Sons
I submitted a comic and co-edited a collaborative protest zine created initially as a reaction to the death of Sarah Everard in March 2021, and the police response to vigils in her honour.
Comics – Me and Brain, Me and Bones
In a time of personal emotional turmoil, I found I needed the simplicity and immediacy of the comics format to most authentically reflect the narrative I wanted to portray.
Misfortune Tellers
I was invited to play an interactive role with my humorous origami ‘misfortune tellers’ as part of a mixed discipline exhibition.
Bristol buildings – reportage
As a previous resident of Bristol, the city’s many intricate and distinctive buildings provided many subjects to study. In these artworks I try to pull forward the character of a building, whilst developing my attention to detail.
