Life Handover: Online workshops offering creative inspiration on the practical aspects of end-of-life planning
Ponder on the nuances of your end-of-life preferences from an artist’s perspective, finding ways to express yourself using creative techniques.

Life Handover workshops are regular one-hour sessions hosted online, offering camaraderie, encouragement, and creative inspiration for the practical aspects of end-of-life planning.
Life Handover workshops are co-hosted by myself, Laura Elliott, celebrant Sian Storey and supported by Brass Bathtub CIC.

No artistic or creative skills needed!
How does Life Handover help with my end-of-life planning?
Each session focuses on a different topic to explore our assumptions about death rituals and death admin using creative prompts which may tease out new perspectives, clarify ideas, or galvanise intentions. Life Handover is about recognising the resistance to admin and the deep topic of death, but meeting it with curiosity and play, ultimately helping us take steps towards creating and sharing our end-of-life preferences.

Do I have to be artistic or creative to do a Life Handover workshop?
The creative techniques used in Life Handover are open to anyone, there is absolutely no need to have any ‘creative skill’. We start with a short ‘warm up’ to get us in the zone, before exploring the theme through a guided activity. Afterwards we’ll take some time to reflect on our insights, with an opportunity to share and discuss our discoveries.

Is Life Handover for me?
If you like to contemplate your end-of-life choices through creative methods with camaraderie and encouragement, you would be more than welcome to join Life Handover!
The sessions are guided and held with compassionate practice, but are not art therapy or a grief support group, so if you’re experiencing raw grief, this is not an appropriate group for your needs.
Life Handover aims to gently approach the ‘thought-work’ around end-of-life planning by creatively exploring the emotional nuance of a subject, it’s not a course, or substitute for legal advice.Â
How do I get involved in Life Handover?
You can book onto a workshop that I’m running, or book me to run the workshop for your event.
Praise for Laura
"[Taking care of the practical end-of-life details] might sound like a daunting prospect, but Laura's input in these sessions has played an invaluable part. With care, empathy and often humour, she devises exercises to focus our minds on the subject in hand, whether it be through writing or simple drawing techniques. This not only aids our progress but also helps us enjoy it."

"Laura’s calm and engaging manner helps me to think about some of the more painful and uncomfortable aspects in a light-hearted and humorous way. Her workshops will be a huge benefit for anyone who wants to help themselves look at their own mortality, especially if they don't know where to start."
